Highlands Ranch Gets Ready to Celebrate the Holidays
This weekend kicks off the holiday celebrations in Highlands Ranch, Colorado with two great events - Hometown Holiday and the Holiday Celebration at Highlands Ranch Mansion.
The Hometown Holiday by the HRCA kicks off Friday night, November 30th at the Highlands Ranch Town Center from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with all kinds of food, entertainment and activities. I have been to this twice in the past and each time we always see so many neighbors and friends and even meet some new ones as well.
The Holiday Celebration at Highlands Ranch Mansion by Metro Districts is on Saturday, December 1st from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The Highlands Ranch mansion is located on South Ranch Road - but parking is extremely limited so free shuttles will be running from Cherry Hills Community Church (off of Highlands Ranch Parkway and Fairview Parkway) to the mansion ever 15 minutes or so. Santa will be arriving at the mansion and there will be all kids of kids games, mansion tours entertainment and horse-drawn hayrides. If you are new to Highlands Ranch, you may not know the the Highlands Ranch mansion is the original home of the ranch, of Highlands Ranch - long before the community it is now to see. I have been able to visit the mansion several times over the years and ti is really quite nice and something to see.
Both of the events are wonderful ways to kick off an exciting month of community activity for Highlands Ranch. If you have lived here for a long time, are quite new or are just visiting - I highly recommend the Highlands Ranch community events both by HRCA and Metro Districts. They really bring the community together and are a large part of what makes Highlands Ranch such a wonderful place to call home.
The other day I had to call my wife during the day about something. She said - Steve I am in Town Center right now and they are putting up the Christmas tree. I asked her if she had a camera and she did, so here are the pictures she took.
As you can see, the tree was enormous and laying on a flat bed type truck and they lifted it into place with a crane. Quite an operation - I think my kids would have liked to have seen it occur but the pictures were a good back-up.
