Denver Colorado to Particpate in ‘Earth Hour’
Mar 28th, 2008 by Steve Scheer
I have been busy this week, and a little out of the loop, but just this morning I was reading an article on-line about Earth Hour.
Apparently tomorrow, Saturday March 29th at 8pm worldwide – many cities are encouraging local businesses and in some cases, residents, to go dark for one hour.
Denver is no exception and Denver's Mayor has encouraged Denver's residents and business to take part.
I like the idea. I am the type of person that often delves deep into thought, and I can say that there have been many a times that I have wondered, driving around at night – are all of those lights really necessary?
I hope that follow up statistics are released about the amount of energy saved worldwide – and perhaps a more regularly initiative can be considered and put into place. I particularly like the part of the Earth Hour web site about Earth Hour Every Day.

We have become quite good at recycling everything we can – and eliminating the waste to begin with. We have also started making the switch to florescent bulbs. I don't have them plugged in every light yet, but we are getting there. We also have the programmable thermostats and other gadgets to help with heating in the house. We also participated last month in Earth Hour. [...]
