Highlands Ranch Ranked By CNN Money Magazine - #12
Jul 16th, 2008 by Steve Scheer
CNN Money Magazine Has come out with their annual list of Best Places to Live 2008 and Colorado is sprinkled all over - but my own Highlands
Ranch, CO is #12. In the naiton. Very Nice.
Its not a big surprise to me that Highlands Ranch continues to regularly rank in lists like this.
Here are some of the reason I love living Highlands Ranch & some of the reason my clients tell met they chose relocate to Highlands Ranch or continue to live here:
Great activities through the Highlands Ranch Community Association. We recently had Rodeo in the Ranch, the Summer Concert Series is still is full swing, Winter Cultural series is always chock full of great performances and every Sunday you can pop over to Town Center for the Farmers Market May - October.
Douglas County Schools continue provide a stellar education for the children of Highlands Ranch and all of Douglas County.
Covenants that are smart and maintained well - contribute to many positive factors but most certainly have contributed to balanced real estate values in uncertain times.
Location, Location, Location. Be downtown in 20 minutes or zipping up C470 to the mountains in a flash. GO the other direction and your zipping toward DIA. Head south and you will be passing the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in about 40 minutes. Highlands Ranch also has convenient locations to jump on RTD buses and Light Rail stations to downtown are located just outside of Highlands Ranch on both the east and west sides.
Strong partnership with Highlands Ranch Metro Districts that provides & maintains amazing parks throughout Highlands Ranch - some with wonderful playgrounds, some with sports fields, tennis courts, batting cages, and even one with a fishing pond.
An outdoor enthusiast delight with miles and miles of trails throughout Highlands Ranch, many connecting out of the ranch to continue
recreation into other areas of the Denver metro area. From my backdoor I can walk to the Highline Canal trail. Very nice.
Four incredible recreation centers that not only provide great facilities but also endless activities for every age range and ability from sports to arts and more.
2 golf courses and many others within a 15 minute drive.
Amazing weather - ok - so that is a Colorado thing - but still.
Shopping. Ok, my wife made me say that. Without having a full mall in our backyard, we have a variety of great shopping at arms length including Aspen Grove, Park Meadows Mall - including the newly added Vista at Park Meadows open-air shopping and soon to come Streets of Southglenn. All with-in 5 - 15 minutes, depending on where you are at in Highlands Ranch. And within Highlands Ranch, a large variety of stores will keep everything you need close by as well.
The other places in Colorado that were mentioned int he Top 100 are - Fort Collins (#2), Loveland, CO (#33), Westminster (#44), Longmont (#50).
