Unless you have been living under a rock somewhere, you know that Denver is about to be in the national spotlight as the DNC comes to town. And even in the suburbs, the impact will be felt as so many hotels are booked solid all over and many are welcoming guests into their homes for the week. I personally will be working my schedule to not touch I25 from about 2pm on each day.
But regardless of your personal interest level in the DNC - there are many non-partisan events that are coming up for all to enjoy.
One of them looks really great - and it will be right at Invesco Field for the week. It is called the American Presidential Experience and is a non-partisan traveling exhibit documenting the presidency of the United States. My wife just returned from a trip to DC with our kids (she took the photo of the white house), and she said even a few there told her how fortunate we were to have this exhibit coming to Denver and she should definitely try to make it over.
According to the web site "The American Presidential Experience center offers the public an opportunity to experience first-hand the inspiring power of the Presidency." The activities listed include having your picture taken sitting at the desk of the oval office, climbing aboard Air Force One, and looking into the window of a presidential Limo.
The American Presidential Experience will be held in Denver from August 22- 27th and on August 29th (closed on 28th). Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for kids and seniors. There is also a family 4 pack available for $49.95.
Now honestly, I usually don't do things that may consists of very large crowds. But I think I will make an exception for this.
