By now you probably have heard of the Google Fiber project. If you haven’t, let me give a brief idea of what this is. Google is looking to identify communities that will be, more or less, a testing ground for a new fiber internet access they are developing.
Google will be selecting communities to partner with to bring ultra high speed internet, at speeds as much as 100 times faster than is currently available! Wow. Wouldn’t that be nice.
Highlands Ranch is vying for the opportunity to have this project here. If you would like to participate in getting Google’s attention in Highlands Ranch, then a great opportunity is available to you tomorrow, March 20, 2010.
The benefits of having this available here in Highlands Ranch Colorado can be enormous. Not only putting our community on the map as a tech hot spot, but the potential for business development, public service enhancement to schools and other government access as well as an awesome online experience to our citizens.
So if you are able to come together at the clock tower in Town Center tomorrow to help attract this project to Highlands Ranch that would be great. If you intend to run in the St. Patrick’s Day 5k, then you’ll already be there to participate.
