Day 24 Highlands Ranch Library

Day 24 | 365 Things To Do | Highlands Ranch Library

On Day 24 of 365 Things to Do in South Denver Suburbs we are going to visit one of my favorite places in Highlands Ranch.

Has anyone ever told you that you can gain the knowledge to be whatever you want to be – for FREE! Yes, at the library and all you need is a card. Libraries are more than just books and today we go to the Highlands Ranch Library.

Highlands Ranch library

The Highlands Ranch Library has just celebrated its 10 year birthday this year but is still a super modern facility.  I use it all the time. Mostly, I use it online for reservations and sometimes ebooks. Yes, there are many uses for the library including music, games for Playstation, Xbox etc…cd’s and movies, many which are current releases.

If you have recently relocated to Highlands Ranch, a trip to the library is a great place to start getting local information.  They have many resources and posting about events going on both in the library and throughout the community and the staff is very knowledgeable  – if you can’t find what your are looking for, they can.

The Highlands Ranch Library itself has tons of books of course, plenty of computers to use, conference and meeting rooms to check out for presentations or whatever.  One of my favorite spots is a private reading/study room complete with a cozy fireplace and comfy chairs.

In the spring and summer months it is always nice to get out on the outdoor patio to read, meet people or just relax and listen to the water down below at Civic Green Park.

The Highlands Ranch Library is a part of the Douglas County Library system. It is not unusual for another library in the system throughout the Douglas County south Denver suburbs to have material that you may wish to borrow, that is easily transported form one library to the other and then waiting for you where ever you choose.

Not to miss is the many events that are offered at the Douglas County Libraries, including in Highlands Ranch.  There are regular events like Children story times, reading programs and book clubs and then also more specialized such as business seminars and series. The range seems almost endless.

So plan a visit to the Highlands Ranch library, take a look around and I’ll bet you’ll want to stay awhile or go online and learn more about what the library has to offer you.
