Day 49 Denver Dumb Friends League

Day 49 | Denver Dumb Friends League | Cat Adoption Specials Through September 5 with Cat Days of Summer

On Day 49 I suggest you consider if you have room in your heart and home and life for a pet and take a visit to one of the best organizations in Colorado, the Denver Dumb Friends League.

The Denver Dumb Friends League is a long standing wonderful organization with locations in Denver and the suburbs that is in need of help right now.  The Dumb Friends League always has so many wonderful animals to bring into your life – but this summer there have been an amazing amount of cats that they have taken under their wings from being abandoned or homeless or have out and out rescued (there was even another story on the news this weekend!).

Cat Days of Summer

This situation has led them to lift & waive all adoption fees for cats this summer and has recently been extended until Sept 5th. This program is called the Cat Days of Summer.  According to the DDFL site, “this still includes the regular DDFL services of spay/neuter surgery, initial vaccinations, microchip ID implant and registration, a 15-day healthcare program and a free office visit with a participating veterinarian”.  Normally, adoptions range from $55 to $115 – so this is quite a savings.

Here are all of the cats that are currently available for adoption at the DDFL. Check back often, cats that are not ready yet to go home are always being added. You will have to read to see which Denver area location the cat or kitten that you are interested in is at right now – The Quebec Street shelter in Denver or The Buddy Center shelter in Castle Rock.

Our own family cat is from the DDFL Denver Quebec Street location, meet sweet Luna, who joined our family back in 2002 when she was just a kitten. She is a bundle of fluff that loves to sleep, play, purr and soak up the sun.  She has been such a wonderful addition to our family, she has given our children a pet to care for and play with and has provided them with unconditional love & taught them responsibility.

If cats or kittens are not right for you or your family, there are also plenty of dogs at the Denver shelter or the Castle Rock Buddy Center and small animals available for adoption at the DDFL locations.  Other animals do have adoption fees – the current special only pertains to cats right now.

Get Involved at the DDFL

There are also other opportunities at the DDFL – they also need foster homes for animals and there are volunteer opportunities too.  There is also a fantastic fundraiser that will be coming up in September to benefit the Castle Rock Buddy Center shelter, called the Wag-N-TrailOther donations at the DDFL are always welcome and of course very appreciated.

  2. Absolutely – and thank you for stopping by & reading the post here. The DFL is such a great organization in our community, I am happy to help raise awareness in any way I can.

  3. You’ve captured this perfectly. Thanks for taking the time!

  4. You’re the one with the brains here. I’m watching for your posts.

  5. I could watch Schindler’s List and still be happy after reading this.

  6. This “free sharing” of information seems too good to be true. Like communism.

  7. I read your post and wished I’d written it

  8. I love both your night out outfits Vix and it's great to see you in action dancing about. Your weekend sounds great fun and you got Glastonbury tickets, yay! I know what you mean about indoor photo shoots, it's very difficult for me to find a tidy spot for a photo too. xx

  9. "How 'bout an article entitled "The Unbearable Jewishness of Hollywood Executives?"As noted previously, intra-White diversity does not count. Whites are a monolith; only non-Whites count as diverse.

  10. blinkbid is awesome, saves me time, effort and my estimates are better. I would also like the ability to sync the data between two computers using dropbox or some cloud implementation. I often need to be able to work on the same estimates on my desktop and mobile laptop. Also is ipad app in the works? David
