			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>I spend my share of time traveling in and around Highlands Ranch and the south metro Denver</strong> area every day.  I pay attention to both residential housing and commercial development.  Although I don’t really broker commercial real estate, I know it is important to have a sense of the commercial market as it can often impact the quality of life for the communities I specialize in such as Highlands Ranch.</p>

<p><strong>Recently, ground has been broken for commercial building in Highlands Ranch.</strong> This is basically at the corner of Highlands Ranch Parkway and Ridgeline, just west of the McDonald’s and Starbucks in Westridge.  This is going to be a new Douglas County Sheriff’s substation.  <a href="http://www.thedenverchannel.com/traffic/22367338/detail.html" target="_blank">You can read  more about this here.</a></p>

<p><strong>The bulk of the population in Douglas County resides in Highlands Ranch </strong>and the very northern boundary of the county.  It seems to make perfect sense to have a state of the art facility here to serve and protect the citizens.  You can keep up on all the latest information from the <a href="http://www.dcsheriff.net/" target="_blank">Douglas County Sheriff’s Office</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>I came across more good news for those of us living in Highlands Ranch.</strong> The <a href="http://www.hrcaonline.org/" target="_blank">HRCA Board of Directors</a> has negotiated an agreement with Pro Disposal for reduced cost trash and recycling service.  Highlands Ranch residents do not have to take part in this, it is an opt in program, you can stay with your current trash pick-up provider.  There are more details to the program which you can <a href="http://www.hrcaonline.org/HomeOwners/HomeOwnerOverview/TrashPreferredProvider.aspx" target="_blank">read about here</a>.</p>

<p><strong>This move does change the day of week for trash pick up</strong> so make sure to <a href="http://www.hrcaonline.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=VRwqPbRte68%3d&amp;tabid=484" target="_blank">check here and see which zone you live in</a> and which day you’ll have trash pick up.  The changes take place April 5, 2010 so make sure to keep it on your calendar.
