BackCountry Neighborhood – Highlands Ranch 

BackCountry Neighborhood Highlands Ranch COThe BackCountry neighborhood in Highlands Ranch is located on the south side of town, south of Wildcat Ridge and at the end of Broadway.  BackCountry is a unique, gated subdivision comprised of several builders and custom homes. Homes in BackCountry are some of the newest in Highlands Ranch and many have incorporated beautiful outdoor living spaces into the design, making many of the homes truly Colorado gems.

The BackCountry community itself has tons to offer residents.  There are many greenbelts, trails and ponds throughout the subdivision and because of the geographic area of BackCountry, many homes sit along high ridges with spectacular views of both the Rocky Mountains and the Denver city skyline.  Within the guarded entry of the community, residents can enjoy the the many trails and parks but the most unique is the pool and Sundial House.  This recreation area is more like a resort.  The pool area has lap pool, hot tubs, fire pits and a snack bar to relax and soak in the scenery.  The Sundial House is the community center that is more like an upscale clubhouse at a private country club.  There are workout equipment, dining areas and a pub that is perfect for gathering with neighbors or just to get away for awhile.

Schools

Schools serving BackCountry are part of the highly regarded Douglas County School District .  Stone Mountain Elementary; Ranch View Middle School and Thunderridge High School.  Colorado School Grades can be checked by the latest school reports.  There are several private and charter school options nearby including Valor Christian High School only a short 6-8 minute drive away.

Commute

Commuting from BackCountry is pretty easy.  A straight shot up Broadway can get you access to C-470 in about 6 minutes or continue to downtown Denver.  Getting to Denver would be easier via RTD Light Rail for daily commuters and only about 15 minutes away to the stations.  Getting to the DTC is about 20 minutes from BackCountry and Denver International Airport about 50 minutes.

Shopping and Entertainment

Shopping is plentiful and nearby to BackCountry.  Closest is the local areas of Westridge, Town Center and Eastridge where you can find major grocery, banking and local specialty shops and restaurants.  There are larger retailers at Town Center, including Target and Tattered Cover Bookstore all within 6 minutes from BackCountry.  Of course, for the mall experience, Park Meadows Mall is about 15 minutes away and Aspen Grove Outdoor Mall about 20 minutes.
