I came across more good news for those of us living in Highlands Ranch. The HRCA Board of Directors has negotiated an agreement with Pro Disposal for reduced cost trash and recycling service.  Highlands Ranch residents do not have to take part in this, it is an opt in program, you can stay with your current trash pick-up provider.  There are more details to the program which you can read about here.

This move does change the day of week for trash pick up so make sure to check here and see which zone you live in and which day you’ll have trash pick up.  The changes take place April 5, 2010 so make sure to keep it on your calendar. This is a nice way the Highlands Ranch Board of Directors have made another environmentally conscious decision for our community.

How exciting for those of us that like to ice skate! Highlands Ranch Metro Districts will open the new outdoor skating rink this November 7^th. The rink will be operated by the Metro Districts and located in the new Town Center North, near the new Super Target.

This skating rink should be a lot of fun for everyone looking to ice skate outdoors in Highlands Ranch. The rink is not made of ice, but rather a new polymer material that imitates ice and can be skated on just like ice. Technology, you’ve got to love it. In any case, there will be public skating, skate rentals, etc..

Highlands Ranch has so many activities for such a wide range of interests, this is a welcome addition. Whether you have lived here a long time or are relocating to Denver or perhaps new to living in Highlands Ranch, you are bound to find a variety of activities to suit your needs.  This is no exception.

This is such a perfect time of year for this. Can you say hot cocoa, shopping and a little winter fun! Even with a high today of 77 degrees,  last week’s big storm is still fresh on our minds and the colder weather is not far away.  I can’t wait to get out there myself after I dust off the old skates.
