Snooze at Southglenn

This morning my family took my wife to breakfast and she choose Snooze.  While the kids & I had never been, she had once.

Snooze is one of the latest restaurants at The Street of Southglenn – but you would never know it as the crowds are fierce.  We arrived at 8 am and waited about 40 minutes for a table.  I can’t say I have ever waited that long for breakfast before but it was certainly worth it.

The menu had all sort of clever names and descriptions.  Apparently the pancakes are the specialty – you can get a flight (a flight of pancakes?) or a solo kind, and they have all sorts.

Between the four of us we ordered a Snooze Breakfast Burrito, Sticky Bun French Toast, 3 Egg Scramble with hash browns and my son opted for the plainer Chocolate Chip Pancakes.

And if that was not enough – we ordered 1 Graceland Pancake to the table to share.  That thing came first and it was more like a dessert then breakfast – but quite tasty.  It was buttermilk pancakes with bananas in them, and then topped a creamy peanut butter and carmel sauce with bacon.  My wife insisted we try this and it was really good.

There is also a full bar at Snooze but we skipped the mimosas today – perhaps next time we will head for lunch and try them then.

There are several Snooze locations, we ate today in the south Denver suburbs at The Streets of Southglenn – in Centennial but a hop skip & jump from Greenwood Village, Littleton, Englewood, Highlands Ranch Cherry Hills Village, and Lone Tree.

Day 83 Hollywood Theaters at The Streets of Southglenn

On Day 83 of 365 Things to Do in South Denver Suburbs we are going to catch a flick at the still pretty new Hollywood Theaters at The Streets of Southglenn in Centennial.

I am not one of those that sees tons of movies, but I have been to the Hollywood Theaters and I really like it.  The best part I have to say is reserving your seats.  How enjoyable it was to walk in and purchase our tickets with assigned seats exactly where we like to sit, and then leave for dinner.  We returned 5 minutes before the movie was to star and had our great seats waiting for us.   It beats showing up for a show 30 minutes early just so you’re not in the front row.  And for those new releases, just reserve online beforehand.

Another big highlight of the Hollywood Theaters at The Streets of Southglenn is SkyBox, which is a full service restaurant and bar and grill and 6 of the theaters have balcony seating where you food is brought to you there.  And all large popcorn and large drinks offer free refills.

It almost goes without saying that the movies have some of the latest and greatest in movie going technology, there is Sony Digital 4K projection and 7 RealD 3D screens.

Outside of the theater is numerous restaurants and local watering holes, so if you would rather grab a bite before or after the movie instead of during, you will have a variety of options at The Streets of Southglenn.

Hollywood Theaters at The Streets of Southglenn is located at University and Arapahoe.  If you can’t find street parking, there is a large parking garage on the south side of the theater.

The Streets of Southglenn opened last August in the location of the old Southglenn Mall and in fact will celebrate its 1 year anniversary this weekend with special events on Saturday August 28th.  There will be a cake decorating contest and family entertainment with face painting & balloon artists most of the day.

The Streets of Southglenn is a beautiful lifestyle shopping and entertainment area, complete with restaurants, shopping, movie theatre, and more.  There are larger stores such as Sears, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Staples and Best Buy.

Overall, the layout of The Streets of Southglenn is great, it has been done beautiful with te main fountain in the middle and in the winter there was an outdoor skating rink in the same space.  It has been planned well and is a pleasant place to grab a bite to eat on one of the many patios and enjoy a Colorado evening.

There are luxury apartments at The Streets of Southglenn available also, so living right there is an option as well and the library should not be missed either.

Streets of Southglenn in Centennial CO Start To Open

I have been driving some Denver area home buyers around lately that were curious about the construction going on at the old Southglenn Mall. They were relocating from out of state and their current area as they put it had “ancient shopping centers”.

The new development is called Streets of Southglenn and although much of the construction is still underway, some of the shops are now opened.

My buyers in particular were delighted there would be such a nice place to shop & dine nearby.

Staples and Best Buy and the Macy Home Furnishings Department opened first and Dick’s Sporting Goods in now opened as well.  I know that my wife commenting that shopping at this brand new Staples for the kid’s school supplies was very nice, she said that at first not many knew that it was opened so she was able to find exactly what she needed.  It seems that the word has gotten out though as the few times I have been in, it is starting to get a little busier.  Busy is good!

The Streets of Southglenn is a welcome addition to the Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Cherry Hills Village and Greenwood Village areas, – its fresh open air shopping experience, coupled with a movie theater, restaurant and cafes is a welcome fresh change for the area.  Many that I have spoken to are very excited about the Whole Foods that will be opening here.  Residential units within The Street of Southglenn will be upscale apartment homes (it was once planned for condos, but that did change late last year).  The Streets of Southglenn has a completion date of Spring 2009.
